Brad Jayakody’s t-shirt had a cartoon image from the “Transformers” movie. The cartoon character on his shirt had a a gun for an arm, and this was deemed a security risk. Jayakody was forbidden to board the airplane until he changed his shirt.
A picture of the shirt can be seen here. This is one of the more ridiculous things I have heard, even from a country like England which is doing its very best to make guns socially unacceptable. A t-shirt with a cartoon character who has a gun for an arm is not a security risk (unless the security personnel are concerned that the cartoon character will come to life and wreak havoc, as happened in the movie).
Perhaps the police, security, and governmental powers that be should focus on preventing the murders of their citizens, rather than policing cartoon characters?
