Maxon, one of the Chicago-area ranges which I frequent, is hosting a free introduction to shooting and firearms safety. The seminar is on Saturday, February 28th, 2009 from 5:30pm to 8:30pm.
This class is designed for first-time shooters and includes both classroom and range time. First Shots is an introductory program that provides the public with opportunities to give shooting a try. Developed by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) and hosted by independent shooting facilities, First Shots provides participants with a comprehensive introduction to shooting by qualified range operators and instructors that includes firearm safety, local ownership requirements, shooting fundamentals, hands-on instruction and how and where to continue. For more information on First Shots, visit www.firstshots.org.
More information can be seen on Maxon’s website. There are also other free Introduction to Shooting seminars, both in Illinois and across the country.
