As reported, two armed criminals tried to rob Sam’s Gas and Food, located at 1773 Fifth Avenue in Columbus, Ohio. The men entered shortly after midnight, just as the gas station was closing, and threatened the lives of the employees. One of the employees grabbed his self defense gun, and shots were exchanged by the employee and the criminals. On of the criminals was hit, and both criminals fled. No employees or customers were injured. The injured criminal was found at a local hospital, where he was treated for his injury and then arrested by police.
When law abiding citizens are armed, this is how robberies will often end – with the victims unharmed and the criminal off the streets. Rather than being shot for not having enough money, or being shot for not having valuables to steal, or being shot just because the robbers felt like hurting them, these clerks will go home to their families unharmed. The armed robber will be in jail, unable to harm other people, likely saving multiple people from going through this sort of ordeal. Armed self defense works, plain and simple.
