I just finished law school, and accepted a job in Iowa, so I’m moving today and tomorrow. On the plus side, I just got the job that I really wanted, found a house that I like, and will live in a state that allows concealed carry. On the down side, I won’t be posting anything new to LearnAboutGuns.com or answering emails until about Friday…

Congratulations on everything. You shall be missed along with your wisdom and information. I wish you all the best and look forward to your postings again. Thanks from one who thoroughly enjoys your articles and help.
Ah, what a shame … for those of us in Chicagoland, not you! 🙂 I live in the Chicago area (soon to be Chicago proper); since moving here a year and a half ago, the right to self-defense has moved to the forefront of my attention: my wife being mugged at gunpoint on a CTA train on her first night here, and the daily unease at traveling in a city with a high crime rate — and yet no legal way to protect oneself — has increased to the point where I now consider it my *duty* to own a gun as soon as the Chicago gun case is resolved. I owe you and your website my gratitude in helping become better informed on the pertinent issues; this led to my joining the NRA, even though, like yourself, I have quite a few political differences with the stereotypical gun-rights supporter. I hope you’ll continue updating after your move, even if your focus may not rest on Chicago quite so much.
Thanks, and to be clear, I plan to continue LearnAboutGuns.com for years to come. Although I’ll be an Iowa resident, I will continue to advocate for gun rights in Chicago, Illinois, and the country as a whole.
Congrats!
Congrats, man. Good luck to you and your fiancee on this new adventure in your life. I think we in the Gun Rights community owe you a debt of gratitude for all you’ve done so far and all, I’m certain, you’ll contribute in the future. Anything we can do to help- feel free to ask. Again, the best
Congratulations and best wishes for an exciting and rewarding future.
You’re doing good work with your blog. I hope it long continues.
Way to go dude! Enjoy your new job!
Congratulations! Hopefully the new job will allow you to have more time and fund for more cool toys! =D

Thanks for the comments everyone, and I’m happy to report that the move went well (or least least as well as any move can go, I guess, since driving a UHaul truck for several hours is no more fun than loading an unloading that truck…) My fiancée and I now have about a million boxes to unpack, and our pets certainly didn’t like being in carriers for so long, but at least the move is done! I like the new house, and it is nice to be away from Cook County with its ridiculous gun laws 🙂
Tom Tobin, I’m sorry about your Wife’s getting mugged. 🙁
Eric, I hope the new location will be much safer than the old. 🙂
Out of curiosity, what pets do you have? We (me, my husband, and my 17 month-old son) have 2 German Shepherds. Better than an alarm system, I have to tell you.
Our whole cul-de-sac is like “dog central”. You know anyone tries to break in is going to WAKE THE ENTIRE NEIGHBORHOOD, lol. That, and they are going to get eaten alive while the owners are still hunting for their firearms.
SithSnoopy,
Right now, we have 2 cats, and a miniature dachshund. Growing up, I had a few dogs (much larger than dachshunds), but they have since died of old age, and I want to wait until next year to get my next dog(s).
