As reported, a Tacoma, Washington woman used her gun to scare away a late-night home invader.
Police say that the woman was at her home on the 2100 block of South L Street just after midnight when she heard a noise at the back door. The woman reportedly grabbed a self defense gun from her bedroom and investigated. The woman is said to have found a male intruder, who was wearing dark clothing and a hooded sweatshirt, in her kitchen. The woman feared for her safety and fired a shot, which sent the burglar running, according to police. The woman was reportedly unharmed, and police are searching for the suspect.
Here we have yet another citizen who was in their own home, going about their peaceful business, only to have a criminal break in and put them in fear for their safety. All too often, that situation ends with the victim being seriously harmed or killed. Fortunately, this woman was wise enough to have a gun for self defense, and as a result was able to repel the intruder. Hopefully, nearly being shot by his would-be victim will cause this criminal to think twice before breaking in to another home.
