As reported, a Houston, TX homeowner used his gun to fend off a home invading burglar.
Police say that a homeowner saw a burglar breaking in to his home in Northeast Houston this morning, and grabbed his gun. The homeowner is said to have fired at the intruder in self defense, striking him an unknown number of times. The burglar fled the home, ran through the yard, jumped over a fence, then collapsed from his injuries, according to police. After being taken to a local hospital, the unidentified burglary suspect reportedly died from his wounds, while homeowner was unharmed.
This is yet another successful example of armed self defense, which occurs about 2.5 million times each year in the USA. Had this homeowner not been armed, he could have been killed by the home invader, as happens all too often. Fortunately, this homeowner was armed, and as a result survived unharmed. Houston as a whole also owes this homeowner a debt of gratitude, since there is one fewer home invader around to victimize innocent people.
