As reported, a St. Petersburg, Florida man used his gun to stop a home invader:
Police say that a burglar tried to break in through the rear window of a home on the 1900 block of Seminole Blvd at about 9:40 AM. The homeowner is said to have noticed the home invasion attempt and fired several shots from his 9mm pistol, which sent the criminal fleeing. Moments later, a local hospital called police to report that 30 year old Michael Patterson had arrived with multiple gunshot wounds to his hand and upper body, according to police. Patterson has reportedly been charged with residential burglary, and police say that the homeowner acted within his rights and will not face any charges.
Home invading criminals are a deadly and terrible threat for every man, woman, and child in the residence. Victims of home invasion all too often suffer torture, rape, kidnapping, and murder at the hands of criminals who care more about a few dollars than human life.
The good news is that gun owners like this man can, and do, stop such criminals every day. Gun ownership saved this homeowner, and led to a suspect being swiftly apprehended and charged by police.
