As reported, an Indianapolis, Indiana man used his handgun to stop an armed robber:
Police say that two men were moving belongings into a third story apartment on the 1500 block of Pennsylvania Street when a robber approached them and asked if they could break a $5 bill, as part of his robbery plot. The men reportedly allowed the robber to follow them into the apartment, at which point the robber drew a gun and ordered the men into the apartment’s back room. Fearing for his safety, one of the men drew his own handgun and fired in self defense, striking the robber and ending the attack, according to police. The robber, who is said to have been wearing an electronic home monitoring ankle bracelet, died from his injuries, and the robbery victims were unharmed.
Once again, guns are a valuable self defense tool. Unarmed individuals can suffer a terrible fate when attacked by a violent criminal, even if they fully cooperate with that criminal’s demands. The same is true for those who try to run away from the criminal.
Fortunately, this law abiding citizen was armed for self defense, and as a result was able to stop a violent robber. The city of Indianapolis owes this man a debt of gratitude, as there is now one fewer armed robber on the streets.
