As reported, a university student was having a birthday party with 10 friends in College Park, GA, when a pair of armed home invaders broke in through a patio door. The criminals demanded that everyone hand over their cell phone and wallets. Next, the home invaders separated the men from the women, preparing to rape the women. At this time, the two men confirmed with each other that they had enough bullets to kill everyone when they were done. At this point, one of the students grabbed his gun from his backpack, and opened fire on the criminals, fatally injuring one of them. The other criminal escaped. One of the house guests suffered non-life-threatening injuries, but is expected to make a full recovery.
Firstly, I would like to commend the student who quickly acted, preventing multiple rapes and murders. He is truly a hero, and deserves a parade for single handedly stopping two armed and violent criminals.
I would also like to point out that had this home invasion occurred in an on-campus “gun free zone,” the news headline would have instead discussed how several women were raped, and how 10 people were murdered. This is because laws that ban guns from schools only deter the law abiding, non-murderous students, while failing to stop robbers and school shooters from bringing guns to school.
Can there be a better story to debunk Diane Sawyer's "If I Only Had A Gun"?
Particularly interesting is the point from that program that you should think twice about shooting because you might injure an innocent bystander. Now, we don't know from this story whose bullets hit the girl, but even if they were the hero's bullets, it is an unfortunate but acceptable outcome, as the alternative was likely death for all the innocents.
And I don't think he would be prosecuted for that, either, like the special strongly implied would be the case.
If this had happen on campus he might have saved 30-40 people.
This did NOT happen in an ON CAMPUS or GUN FREE ZONE. It happened in a shady apartment complex just off Camp Creek Parkway.
riggz,
No one said this happened on campus or in a gun free zone. In fact, the last paragraph of the article makes this clear. I even go on to say how good it was that this happened in an area where the student's weren't denied the ability to have a self defense gun.
Sup LAG, I see you have been discovered by the boys on georgiapacking.org. This story caused a bit of controversy on the site. Glad to see you are still active, take care.

I have a carry permit and carry at times and practice with a law enforcement trainer every couple of months. I utilize a 26, a 36, and a Kahr 9mm, the last of which is mainly to protect my 80 lb,, trained, lovable, German Shepherd from loose dogs and stupid people. You are playing fast and loose with your literary "skills." We don't know what the headlines would have read because we don't know what the outcome would have been after the alleged robbery and threatened and possibly carried out "rapes and killings." Maybe the "rapes and killings" would have occurred maybe not. Perhaps the A-holes where just trying to intimidate the group to force them to comply.
Either way I have no problem with stopping both bad guys, each with multiple bullets, quarts of blood, until certain incapacity. But you, Mr. Author, are speculating in an emotional way over what would have happened. Are you a fortune teller too? CZ, Attorney at Law
