As reported, a bail bond company employee used his handgun to stop a violent armed robber:
Police say that a robber, who was armed with a handgun and wearing a mask, entered A Absolute Bail Bonding on the 900 block of W Meighan Blvd in Gadsden, Alabama, at about 12:40. The robber is said to have demanded money and knocked down one employee, before rifling through a bag of money. A second employee reportedly emerged from a back room, carrying a revolver, and ordered the robber to drop his gun. Rather than complying, the robber reportedly pointed his gun at the second employee, at which point the second employee fired in self defense, striking the robber in the head and ending the attack, police say. The robber, whose identity has not yet been released, reportedly died from a gunshot wound to the head, and no injuries to employees or bystanders were reported.
Once again, guns are a valuable self defense tool. Unarmed individuals can suffer a terrible fate when a criminal robs them, even if they fully cooperate with the criminal’s demands. The same is true for those who try to run from the robber. Thankfully, this employee was armed for self defense, enabling him and his coworker to survive unharmed. It also appears that Gadsden, Alabama owes this employee a debt of gratitude, as there is one fewer violent armed robber on the streets.
